Are you looking for a fun way to celebrate the holiday season with your family? The holidays can be an overwhelming time, but we at Hamilton and Co. hope to make things a little easier by sharing this amazing list of 60+ 2022 holiday events in Greenville, South Carolina!


Please keep in mind, some of these events may be ticketed or require advance reservations. Plan ahead to make sure you’re prepared.

Simpsonville’s Christmas Parade


When: December 4th | 3pm


Start the holiday season off right with Simpsonville’s Christmas Parade Presented by Weichert, Realtors – Shaun & Shari Group on Sunday, December 4th! This event is a community favorite, and a great chance for the season’s first sighting of Santa!


The theme of this year’s Christmas Parade is “Sounds of the Season.” Each entry chooses their favorite holiday song and decorates to the theme of that song. Entries are encouraged to play their song while they drive or walk the parade route.


Sip and Shop


When: December 7th | 5:30pm – 9:30pm


Sip and shop at Chestnut Coffee’s Verdae location. Enjoy live music with Santa, a glass of wine, coffee flights, and charcuterie while you shop around in our market! ​​​​​​​​


Pelzer Light People


When: November 26th – December 19th | 7pm – 9pm


For over 30 years the Pelzer light people have delighted Christmas season spectators & after a short hiatus are back! Visit our Facebook page for a detailed 2022 calendar with locations.


37th Annual Festival of Trees


When: November 18th – December 26th


The 37th annual Festival of Trees will bring the 2022 holiday season to life! Spectacularly decorated trees line the entranceway of three hotels in downtown Greenville, giving visitors and community members the chance to experience the magic of the holidays. View trees at Courtyard Marriott Downtown, Embassy Suites by Hilton – Riverplace, and Hyatt Regency Greenville.


All proceeds will support the purchase of a second mammography coach.


Greer Christmas Festival


When: December 3rd – December 4th | 10am – 2pm


Shop local for the holidays at this Christmas Festival located in Greer City Park. Food trucks, live entertainment, locally made gifts and more!


A Dickens of a Christmas


When: December 6th | 6pm – 9pm


Join the City of Spartanburg for our 28th Annual A Dickens of a Christmas this winter! This free Victorian holiday extravaganza is sure to get any Scrooge in the festive spirit! You won’t want to miss Spartanburg’s signature yuletide celebration as we kickoff the holiday season!


2022 Holiday Fair


When: December 1st – December 3rd


Celebrate the most wonderful time of the year at the 52nd annual Holiday Fair at the Greenville Convention Center! We offer the region’s largest selection of holiday arts, crafts and gifts for everyone on your list – all under one roof this Holiday season.


2022 Kringle Holiday Village


When: December 9th – December 11th


Kringle Holiday Village, Greenville’s most fun and exciting Holiday event, has something for everyone! Join us as Fluor Field transforms into a European Holiday Market filled with local artisans offering unique, handcrafted gifts for your friends and family. 


A December to Remember


When: December 1st | 6pm – 9pm


Brought to you by the City of Mauldin and the Greater Mauldin Chamber of Commerce, this year’s festivities will include live holiday music, a holiday market, pictures with Santa, the annual tree lighting, and some jolly extras that will help make your spirits bright!


Christmas “Inn” Our Town


When: December 9th | 5pm – 9:30pm


Lantern-lit streets, horse-drawn carriages, and Santa will welcome you to the Upstate’s finest Christmas celebration. The soft glow of thousands of twinkling lights and live Christmas instrumentals turn our historic downtown into the most enchanting place to spend the holidays. 


Night of Lights


When: December 2nd | 6:15pm


Come watch Main Street light up while you rock around our 30-foot Christmas tree adorned with 25,550 LED lights. We’ll count down with Mayor White and special guest Jane Robelot, WYFF 4 News Anchor, as we light the official City of Greenville Christmas tree Located in front of M. Judson Booksellers. This exciting FREE event includes food trucks and vendors, live music and a special visit from Santa Claus. The official tree lighting will take place between 6:15 PM and 6:30 PM, so be sure you come early to ensure you don’t miss out on the magic.


Fountain Inn Annual Tree Lighting


When: December 2nd | 7pm


Join us for the official start of the Christmas season as we illuminate our downtown with thousands of twinkling lights, accompanied by live music. The Annual Tree Lighting is on December 2, and will take place at the Splash Pad at 7pm. 


Greer Christmas Tree Lighting 


When: December 2nd | 5 pm – 8pm


Visit Greer City Park to watch the town’s Christmas tree come alive! The Lighting Ceremony will kick off an evening of fun featuring Santa, holiday craft stations, inflatables and more!


Travelers Rest Holiday Hop and Tree Lighting


When: November 26th | 3pm – 7 pm


Downtown TR will be filled with family-friendly activities including a festive tree-lighting ceremony, FREE photos with Santa, snowball fights by the Gazebo, festive music, horse-drawn carriage rides, and more.


Bob Jones University Christmas Tree Lighting and Carol Sing


When: December 2nd | 4pm – 9pm


Welcome the Christmas season with your favorite carols and thousands of twinkling lights at BJU’s annual Christmas Celebration and Carol Sing! This free community event includes an Alumni Holiday Market, the University Symphonic and Combined Choirs Christmas concert and a BJUGrass Concert with special guest artist Ben Rochester. If you have children or grandchildren, at 4 p.m. we open our Christmas Village including crafts, Christmas story telling, Christmas cookie decorating and much more.


Pelzer Light People


When: November 26th – December 19th | 7pm – 9pm

Fifth Annual Holidays at Hartness


When: December 6th | 6pm


Roast s’mores, sip on Village Kitchen hot cocoa or wine and beer from The Reservoir, watch the lighting of the Hartness Christmas tree, and more.


Upstate Holiday Light Show


When: December 3rd | 6:30 pm


Drive through a nighttime Christmas wonderland as 32 million colors set the sky ablaze, synchronized to the music of your favorite holiday classics. Take your time. Park and enjoy. The show lasts 30 minutes, but drive around the track as many times as you’d like! Enjoy small carnival rides and feed farm and exotic animals inside our Petting Zoo or from your car using our drive-thru lane! We are open rain or shine, 7 days a week!


Anderson Christmas Lights


When: Thanksgiving Day thru Christmas Day | 5:30pm – 10pm


Enormous light show operating for over 2 decades to benefit Anderson Lights of Hope, a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to helping better the community.


Ice on Main


When: November 14th – January 16th


Possibly Greenville’s most iconic holiday tradition, Ice on Main is an open air ice skating rink right in the middle of Downtown! The rink is open 7 days a week, excluding Christmas Day.


Poinsettia Christmas Parade


When: December 3rd | 6pm


For more than 75 years, the parade has signaled the start of the Christmas season in Greenville. Each year the parade attracts thousands of visitors downtown to view the holiday floats and activities.


Travelers Rest Christmas Parade


When: December 10th | 10:30 am 


Catch a parade through downtown Travelers Rest to celebrate the holiday season.


Holidays at the Zoo


When: December 1th – December 23rd, December 26th – December 30th | 3pm – 8pm


Take a walk through twinkling lights, listen to music, and visit the Holiday Village at a very merry Greenville Zoo.


Simpsonville’s Christmas Parade

The Elf Experience


When: December 11th | 3:30pm – 4:30pm


One of Santa’s elf’s has escaped the North Pole and landed at Palmetto Proper! During this interactive Elf Experience, Sugarplum will delight you with her curiosity and sense of adventure through fun games, intriguing stories, creative card crafting and festive dancing! 


Brunch with Santa and Mrs. Claus


When: December 17th | 10am


Santa and Mrs. Claus are coming to Cartwright!! Enjoy a delicious Brunch, photos with Santa, and a craft with the help of Mrs. Claus!


Book Lover’s Holiday Party


When: December 1st | 5pm – 8pm


Drop in any time over the course of the evening for refreshments and wine, great book recommendations, and the perfect opportunity to knock out the rest of your holiday shopping. We’ll have a display of great holiday titles in-store, and you’ll receive a FREE Greenville bridge ornament ($29.95 value) with your purchase of $100 or more.


Rudolph Run at Night


When: December 3rd


The 9th Annual Rudolph Run at Night takes place on the first Saturday in December. The race will begin with a one-mile Kids Run at 6:00 pm and a 5k run at 6:45 pm through the City’s downtown area. The Fountain Inn tree lighting and firework show will conclude the festivities. The first 200 participants will receive a five-dollar voucher for their favorite drink from Growler Haus after the run!


TCMU-Greenville’s Winter Camp


When: December 19th – 23rd | 9am- 12pm


Travel to communities near and far while learning about winter holidays celebrated around the world. Each day will be dedicated to learning and appreciating the following Holidays: Las Posadas (Monday), Hanukkah (Tuesday), Winter Solstice (Wednesday), Kwanzaa (Thursday) and Omisoka (Friday). Explore unique traditions as well as the food and stories that bring people together to celebrate life, love, hope and community!


Santa’s Sleigh Rides 


When: November 12th – December 23rd 


Santa and his elves are coming to Greenville! Enjoy a ride in Old Saint Nick’s Sleigh as he tours Downtown Greenville.


Ugly Sweater Holiday Party


When: December 2nd | 6pm – 8pm


The holiday season is upon us and it is time to get dressed in your best ugly sweater and join your fellow Members for a social at Think Tank Brew Lab! This event is FREE, and you can bring a plus one. There will be a cash bar and light snacks will be provided. The ugliest sweater will win a bottle of wine!


Poinsettia Postcards


When: December


Local nonprofits and school groups construct and decorate grand holiday postcards displayed throughout Greenville’s Main Street plazas in December.


Shopping with Santa


When: December 3rd – December 4th


Granddaddy’s Trees is hosting Santa Claus for our first ever “Shopping with Santa” event!


Window Wonderland


When: December


Window shopping has never been so fun! Downtown merchants transform Main Street into a holiday wonderland for residents and visitors to enjoy. Visitors can stroll the streets and vote for their favorite merchant display every December.


2022 Teddy Bear Toss


When: December 10th | 7pm


Ho, Ho, Holy cow that’s a lot of teddy bears! Get in on the season of giving by donating a new or gently-used stuffed animal to local children in need. When the Rabbits score their first goal of the game, throw your stuffed animals onto the ice and be a part of the fluffiest tradition in hockey!


Holiday Hustle 5K & Kids Fun Run


When: December 3rd


Welcome back to the Holiday Hustle 5k! We are excited to bring back this annual event of this race just outside Greenville in Travelers Rest. The course is run from Trail Blazer Park that includes an extremely fast downhill mile at the beginning for some speedy times! The course will be closed off to the public with the help of our local police department in Travelers Rest. We will have Holiday music at the start and finish line, a bubble machine for the kids, and a souvenir for the first 150 runners that pick up their packet race morning!


Miracle


When: November 21st – December 31st | 11am – Midnight


Southernside Brewing Co. will transform into a winter wonderland + holiday pop-up bar. Complete with floor-to-ceiling holiday decor and an exclusive holiday-themed cocktail menu, Miracle @ Southernside will also feature weekly specials and events like movie Mondays, holiday-themed trivia, and family-friendly fun all day (along with some adults-only shenanigans at night).


Greenville Christmas Market


When: November 25th – January 1st


Experience the charming festivities of a European Christmas Market blended with Southern holiday traditions, only at Grand Bohemian Lodge Greenville. 


Indie Craft Parade Holiday Pop Up Shop


When: Fridays – Sundays November 4th – December 18th


The 2022 Indie Craft Parade Holiday Pop Up will be open Fridays through Sundays beginning November 4. For seven weekends, a curated mix of handmade giftable art, home goods, jewelry, and children’s items will be available for purchase.



Indie Craft Parade Holiday Mini Markets


When: November 19th, December 3rd, and December 10th


In conjunction with the Indie Craft Parade Holiday Pop Up Shop, 3 outdoor Mini Markets will be held on Saturdays in November and December from 11am–3pm. Each market features 25+ different makers.


Travelers Rest Farmers Market Very Merry Christmas Market


When: December 10th | 12pm – 4pm


Our annual Very Merry Christmas Market returns December 10th from 12:00-4:00 at Trailblazer Park following the downtown Travelers Rest Christmas Parade! We’ll host Justyn Fox in the music tent, The Noodle Lady as our food truck, and a very merry special guest, Santa Claus, in the amphitheater! For the first time ever we will be welcoming over 100 local makers!


Camperdown Plaza’s Annual Holiday Market


When: November 20th | 12:30pm – 5p,


With 25+ vendors, live music, and Story Time, there truly is something for everyone. This event is FREE to attend but don’t forget to make reservations at our Camperdown outlets now to make the whole day an unforgettable experience!


Sip and Shop


When: December 7th | 5:30pm – 9:30pm

Saturday Market Holiday Edition


When: December 10th | 9am – 1pm


Join us at the TD Saturday Market Holiday Edition to shop for holiday gifts! This special market will feature seasonal produce, specialty items (honey, fresh pressed juices, pasta/salsa), along with festive handmade crafts, holiday baskets and more.


Holiday Market Pop Up Shop


When: December 4th and 11th | 11am – 3pm


Holiday Pop Up featuring multiple local venders at Cartwright Food Hall.


Greenville Gingerbread House Display


When: December 1st – December 26th | 11am – 9pm


View festive holiday gingerbread creations from celebrated local chefs and restaurants in a wooded, winter wonderland-themed lobby. Then, cast your ballot for your favorite to win the People’s Choice award! As you stroll, enjoy specially created, seasonal food and drink specials from Oak & Honey (during restaurant hours). 


The Grand Marvy Market Holiday Event


When: November 26th | 10am – 3pm


Our popular holiday market is coming back! Stop by and support some of the best artisans, crafters and curators in the area as we begin the holiday season on Small Business Saturday. Live music, food, drinks and more to make merry.

Davenport Tree Farm



When: November 2th – December 25th


Choose & Cut Carolina Sapphire, Leyland Cypress. Pre-Cut Fraser Firs also available. Shop with unique ornaments and other gifts, and play area for the kids with a zip line.


Country Boy’s Home & Garden Center


When: Monday-Saturday 9am – 6pm; Sunday 12pm-6pm


Country Boy’s is a local full-service garden center and year-round Christmas shop. Their location on Woodruff Road features beautiful Christmas Trees each year. Wreaths and Christmas Tree Stands available for purchase, and free coffee and hot chocolate are available for all tree shoppers!


Merry Christmas Tree Farm


When: November 24th – December 23rd (or until sold out)


Both Choose and Cut and pre-cut trees are available. Varieties include Leyland Cypress, Murray Cypress, Virginia Pine (limited), Carolina Blue Sapphire (limited), Carolina Blue Sapphire (limited), Eastern Red Cedar, and a few White Pines. Wreaths made onsite are also available as well as tree stands and other accessories.


A Christmas to Remember

Purchase your Family Christmas Tree and enjoy Kid’s Crafts & Holiday Music throughout downtown!


Elves Christmas Trees


When: starting November 18th


Family – Owned 75 acres Cotton and Cattle Farm in the past. We now grow Christmas Trees on the rolling hill farm called Spring Valley Timber Farm. Visit the farm this year and we will add your to our yearly drawing for a free Christmas tree next year!


Granddaddy’s Christmas Trees


When: starting November 18th (special event December 3rd – December 4th)


From our farm to your home, we hope you have a very Merry Christmas! Two locations: Greenville: 1234 E. Butler Road beside Barkingham Palace and Simpsonville: 621 Fairview Road in Ingle’s parking lot. Shop with Santa on December 3rd and 4th! More information HERE.


Boyd Mountain Christmas Tree Farm


When: November 19th – November 20th | November 25th – November 27th


You select the tree and they cut, bale, and tie it. You also have the option to cut yourself. Cut Fraser Firs, live Fraser Firs (for planting), and wreaths are available. Santa visits on all of the above dates!

Trans-Siberian Orchestra – The Ghosts of Christmas Eve

Multi-platinum, progressive rock group Trans Siberian Orchestra’s highly-anticipated Winter Tour is back in Greenville for one night only!

The People Sing! Messiah

“The People Sing! Messiah” is a night of worship, joy, voices, and instrumental music to be complete only by YOUR VOICE joining in the choral parts of the oratorio to proclaim the story of Jesus. This event features Part I of the masterwork plus “The Hallelujah Chorus” and “Worthy is the Lamb.” Surround yourself with a chorus of hundreds, the First Presbyterian Church sanctuary choir, a Baroque orchestra that includes many members of the Greenville Symphony, pipe organ, harpsichord, and four outstanding local soloists to refresh your spirit with music this holiday season.


The Nutcracker Presented by International Ballet

Nutcracker: The Exhibition


When: November 19th – February 19th 


A 1,200 square foot exhibition organized by the Upcountry History Museum, Nutcracker: An Exhibition will explore the kaleidoscope of artistic re-imaginings of The Nutcracker, from the 1820’s to the present. Original illustrations, drawings, film and ballet costumes, props, and ephemera will examine multiple perspectives of one of literature’s greatest paradoxes that continues to inspire imagination, creativity, and discussion.


Disney on Ice Let’s Celebrate!


When: November 23rd – November 27th


Audiences will be a part of the magic of Disney as Mouse-ter of Ceremonies Mickey Mouse leads a parade of more than 50 beloved characters starring Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy and featuring an ensemble of Disney Princesses including Cinderella, Rapunzel, Ariel, Snow White and Tiana. The wintry wonderland of Disney’s Frozen also comes to life with Anna, Elsa, and the hilarious Olaf, as they discover that true love is the greatest magic of all. Exciting moments from Disney•Pixar’s Finding Dory, Disney’s Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast will leave the whole family with memories to last a lifetime.


Broadway Holiday Spectacular


When: December 8th – December 18th


This holiday season, come see Greenville Theatre’s original revue, Broadway Holiday Spectacular! This original story centers around a young Greenville family whose daughter’s secret holiday wish is to become a Broadway performer. Join us for this family’s holiday party where, if you believe, anything can happen! This original show will feature some of your favorite Holiday songs performed by a live band and show-stopping talent from the Upstate. Come make new memories this season at Greenville Theatre with incredible dancing, beautiful singing, and holiday wishes coming true!


Lessons and Carols 2022

26th Annual Festival of Lessons and Carols returns to Furman’s campus on December 11, 2022!


A Christmas Carol

Watch the story of Ebenezer Scrooge on the Mauldin Cultural Center Stage.


Holiday at Peace


When: December 16th – December 18th


The Greenville Symphony Orchestra presents this musical event featuring conductor Edvard Tchivzhel, host Jamarcus Gaston, soprano Rachel York, and dancers of the International Ballet.


The Nutcracker: Once Upon a Time in Greenville


When: December 2nd – December 4th


A European-inspired production that brings all of Clara’s adventures and excitement home to the Peace Center in

Greenville. Continuing our reinvented holiday classic, the production highlights Victorian societal expectations and prosperity while Clara and her beloved Nutcracker dance their way through the cherished landmarks and stunning scenery of Greenville and into the hearts of the audience.

Kick off 2023 at the Hyatt Regency with Greenville’s largest, liveliest, most dazzling event of the season, including 3 stages each in their own ballroom. We’ll see you on the red carpet for a luxurious night of all-inclusive spirits and bites, live entertainment, champagne-pouring aerialists, and so much more!


2023 Southern Gala
